To The Quick
*Bangs head against the wall*
Yeah, I've been out of it for a bit. Been working for about 3 weeks straight at this point. I had a bit of a freak-out the other day just because I'm a little overworked right now. Yes, you are going to hear about it :P
Ok, so as I'm on my way to work at Providence yesterday (driving down lovely I-475 southbound during morning rush hour) when my front driver side tire decides to go flat. I'm in the left lane, so I pull off to the left side of the road, get out of my car, curse at my tire, get back in the car, and scoot myself over to the right side of the road. Now, I've never had to change a flat tire off of a busy highway before, so I'm a little nervous. I get out my owners manual, just so I have it there in case I forget to do something, when I notice a Highway Patrol car pull up behind me. Thankfully, the patrolman was just checking to see if I need any help or anything. I explain what happened and he offers to help me change the tire, which we do, and we have a bit of a nice convo by the side of 475. I would just like to say that Officer Carpenter of the Ohio Highway Patrol was very nice, and he deserves a raise. Mwaaahahaha.....
Anyway, I continue on my merry way and only get to work about a half an hour late. I spend 6 hours doing heavy labor in the form of extreme hotel cleaning and dam maintenance, so I'm a bit tired when it's time to go home. I get out to my car and check the donut on my car........ and it's flat. It held up fine driving along the rest of 475 and The Trail, but it couldn't sit in a parking lot? Bloody hell......
Go back into the Hotel, call my dad. He heads out to get me so we can refill the donut and try to get it to hold the air. While he's on his way I go out and take a look at my tire to try and see if I can find the hole in it. Take the donut off my car so it's ready when dad gets there, we take it to get some air in it, and put it back on the car. Of course, the donut, being 12 years old and therefore crappy, will not hold air. The only option I have now is to leave my car at Providence and bring a fixed or new tire back tomorrow. I go to get my CD's and CD player out of the car, because I don't want to leave them in there overnight, and I get out of my car to go open the trunk so I can put them in there. Because my day could SO get worse, I locked my keys in my car. So now I'm an hour away from my house, I'm dirty, tired, freaking out a little, I have a flat tire, a flat donut, and I've locked my keys in my car. *sigh*
I calmed down once I get home. We got my tire plugged, thankfully it only cost me $10 and change. I think I might get a full size tire to use as a spare, it'll fit in my trunk and be better then the flat donut. I need to get new hubcaps though. I think the one fell off when the tire went flat, so I need to get one for it...... and why not just get four new ones so they all match. After all, they are 12 years old at this point.
I'm still working at the boat, but it's mostly maintenance at this point. Things like scrubbing the boat, cleaning the built-in-the-1800's-and-condemned-for-the-general-public hotel the serves as the Providence offices, and making sure the lock and canal stays sort of clear of leaves. The Holidays at the Manor House start in a couple of weeks, so I'll be working a lot then. We are expecting around 15000 people through the house in a weeks time this year. Fun fun fun.....
K, time for bed..... night all

I am reminded of this scene I saw tonight on "Family Guy" where a man in Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6th, 1945, gets to his car to find a ticket on it. Then someone drives by and splashes him with mud. He then says, "this day couldn't get any worse," when he hears something falling from the sky. He looks up and says, "Oh, my..." And a baboon falls on him and attacks him!!! It was hilarious.
Listen, dear one, things could get much worse, but bad is bad enough some days. I understand. Just try to chill out and relax when you can. Don't go crazy on me, okay? Take care. ;)
wow, you had a bad car day on Monday.
At least today is going a little better (since I have you and Ang on my phone with me right now) spending the day in BG doing laundry...hehe
I'm posting this so I can say Hi and not get in trouble for just lurking again. :P
ok. when that much shit happens at once. a small, yet stiff drink would be in order whilst awaiting the locksmith.
labbie: Family Guy is AWESOME! Hehehe... Yeah, things could be worse, which is why that day has turned into one of those "funny-but-really-sucked-at-the-time" stories. Oh, and I'm a tad crazy already, so it really can't get much worse...
geo: Yes, but I content myself with the fact that it's not as bad as the time my car had a radiator leak and stalled on the way to the Manor House after I found out that I couldn't get to the house because of a crash on Central. My car was smoking from under the hood that time.
Or even the time when my car died on Secor (were talkin no battery power or anything here)because the alternator gave out.
There will be a post about today when I have time to write one, today rocked! And you will always get in trouble for lurking :P
footprint: If I had a drink with me when it happened, I would have had more then just a small stiff drink. Vodka is my friend, oh yes it is.
Girl, I've been in that hell before...I need a drink just thinking about it. Such a horrible place to be, but thankfully you had your father there!
Hang in there! I just made some cake...come on over and we'll have a girls night.
YAY! Cake and girls night! I'm on my way...
Cake girls night... I'm so there. Hey, Mandolin... How's it going? Miss me?
Ok, no more cake...it's time for the pumpkin and apple pies! Mmm...I'll make the pies, Mandolin can bring the drinks and Labbie you can bring the ice cream.
