Cars.. no, not the movie

I HAVE A NEW CAR!!!!!!!

Yup yup. A 2005 Saturn Ion 1. It's the basic model so it's doesn't have power windows, locks, or even a tape deck, but I love it. 5 star crash test rating, working radio, polimer side pannels, and I plan on getting a CD player with detachable face and an iPod hookup so I can have all my tunes with me.

It runs like a dream, I hadn't realized how bad my Prizm had gotten till I test drove some other cars. It amazed me that I got 500 for my trade in.

Letting go of the Prizm (Baby) wasn't easy, she's been with me for 7 years. My aunt got her new in 1994 and sold her to me in 2000. It's the car I took my drivers test in, the car I had when I graduated high school, when I went to Europe, when I dated a few of my biggest mistakes and my strongest love, when I moved... twice... So many many memories were wrapped up in that car.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't kiss the stearing wheel before I left her at the dealership.

They say your first car is like your first love, and in many ways it is. It's the car you'll remember when you talk about your teenage years, the car you'll think about when doing normal things, the car you'll compare all others too.

As much as I loved Baby, and I did, I knew it was time for us to part. A part of her will always be with me, and I don't just mean her antenna which broke off two years ago....
